ABOUT US

The Helicopter Service of Iceland was founded in 1989 with a Bell 206L1 Long Ranger helicopter, which still is in use by the company. We have provided all around helicopter service since 1989 in Iceland as well as in Greenland and Scandinavia. We are the oldest operating helicopter company in Iceland.

In the beginning of 2006 new owners bought the company and in the year 2007 the company was completely restructured. We invite you to visit us in our facilities at Reykjavik airport; Hangar 23 in Fluggardar, which is located at Njardargata in Reykjavík, (see the map).

The company has been involved in just about everything a helicopter can do such as; aerial-filming, photography, aerial-work, research, charter flights, passenger transport, including VIP transport, fire fighting and sling work as well as many other projects.
Between 1991 and 1992, and from 1998-2004 the helicopter-service offered helicopter pilot training, and we are planning to offer training again soon.

Today the Helicopter Service of Iceland operates three helicopters: Bell 206L1 Long Ranger, Bell 230 and Bell 430 VIP.

We strive to better serve you, our customers; the goal is to increase our services both in Iceland and abroad, to meet customer demands, while maintaining safe and efficient operations.

OUR HELICOPTERS

	Bell 206 L1 Long Ranger Max 6 passengers. Endurance, approximately 3:00 hours. Speed 170 km/hour or 100 KTS/hour. Sling capacity max. 700 kg. Good and reliable helicopter. Excellent for most operations.
	Bell 230 Max 9 passengers. Endurance, approximately 3:30 hours. Speed 135-140 KTS/hour or 250-260 km/hour. Two engines. Sling capacity max. 1050 kg. Pop out safety floats – Left side sliding door. Excellent for passenger transport or aerial work.
	Bell 430 VIP Max 7 Passengers. Endurance, approximately 2:00 hours. Speed 145 KTS 270 km/hour. Two engines. Retractable langing gear. Great for passenger transport and VIP flights.
